What We've Shipped Lately (and How It Helps Gets You Hired)
Since opening our free Beta around a month ago, we've been super busy asking our users for feedback and improving the platform based on that. Here's a quick round up of everything we've shipped recently.
Cover letters that don't sound robotic
Hiring managers often have hundreds of applications to review - it's pretty tedious from their perspective. So their natural instinct is to quickly skim through and dismiss as many as possible. The second they detect something that sounds like AI, there is a good chance the application is out the window. So we rebuilt cover letters to sound more natural and human.
Preview before you commit
You can now preview the full application form before you start filling it in. This is a small change that makes a big difference. You know exactly what you're walking into (how many fields, what they're asking for, how long it'll take) before you invest your precious time. The end result is less abandons and more applications that actually get finished.
CV review cleaned up
We've made a batch of usability improvements to our CV review feature. We ironed out bugs that result is less clicking around, faster optimisation, and generally made it more pleasing to use.
Filter by salary and seniority
Our new salary and seniority filters mean you're not sifting through irrelevant listings and it makes your feed a lot more focused.
Chrome Extension toughened up
Our Chrome Extension that helps you to complete forms and learns from each application got some reliability improvements for steadier overall performance.
Discard a draft properly
You can now bin a draft application instead of it lingering around half-finished.
Applications out of the main feed
Your applied-to jobs no longer clutter the main opportunities feed. That feed is for discovery only so you can focus on new roles and things worth your attention. All of the in progress applications live in their own area.
Coming soon: a big matching upgrade
This is the big one. We're working on a much more granular matching system that offers more precise role selections, deal breakers you can set once and never see again, and a feedback loop where you thumbs up or down the jobs in your feed and the algorithm actually learns from it.
